the house down the street is not what it appears to be. this is a true story about my neighbors.
Daniel Lee Anderson and Taryn Marie Anderson are a married couple that live down the street from my dads house. they live in a beautiful old Portland style house, with a large wrap around porch. i know this neighborhood like the back of my hand. i walked the passed the Anderson's place on my way it school, for my first day of kinder garden. and just to day i passed their place on my way home from work. however if i had know the cauldron of evil that was boiling within those walls. i would have never walked down that street a day in my life. i would have been to afraid to look up at the Anderson's large bay window and possibly see the devil himself staring back at me.
its the year 2005, the Anderson's are on vacation in Missouri when they meet Charles Whitworth and Tammy Whitworth. The Whitworths are an old married couple that have loved each other for years. Charles Whitworth, 65 years old, worked for 33 years for Chrysler in St. Louis, Mo.. despite the fact he doesn't know how to read or write, he has worked hard all his life and is now retired with enough money to support his wife and himself. Tammy Whitworth, 50 years old, is considered a low-functioning adult. she is independent, but her brain functions much like a child.
after two weeks of vacationing the Anderson's and the Whitworths have become great friends.
the two couples really hit it off, so well in fact the Whitworths decide to move to portland O.R. and share a house with the Anderson's. they leave in the middle of the night, they tell no friends or family, and they take nothing with them. behind them they a leave note that simply reads, (moved to Oregon). when family members find out that there loved ones are missing, they try every thing they can to find them. they even get a private investigator, but to no success. the family is forced to give up and the case grows cold. it will be three years until Barbara Ross, Tammy's mouther, hears her daughter's voice.
when the Whitworth's arrived in Portland. they found that there new friends were not exactly who they said they were. the Anderson's prepared a room for Charles and Tammy in the basement. it was a dark and damp basement. it was home to all sorts of creepy crawlers.
a single light was hanging from the rafters. it gave hardly any light. and because of this parts of the basement where unexposed do to shadows. the basement had only one door. and it could be locked from the outside. for the next three years Charles and Tammy were forced to live in these conditions.
the Anderson's would leave them locked in the basement for days at a time. letting them out only to do the weekly chores. Charles was collecting social security, but the Anderson's were having the checks deposited into there own personal accounts. as this continued the Anderson's
became more and more violent. the weekly chores became more demanding. and the hope of escaping was lost. Charles was forced at gun point to bite down on Tammy's arm until she bled.
and this happened several times. after a few years Charles and Tammy had suffered extreme cyclelogical damage. they truly believed that there family members had either died or hatted them.
one day the Anderson's forgot to lock the basement door. Tammy ran to a plaid pantry a few blocks away. a 21 year old kid helped her call 9-1-1. this started a for week investigation that lead to the arrest of Daniel Lee Anderson and Taryn Marie Anderson. in a interview with Daniel Anderson he was asked, "why Charles and Tammy? why did you pick them?" he replied "christians tend to be more trusting".
the Anderson's are expected to see trile some time next month. the Whitworths have moved back to Missouri and are staying with Tammy's mom.
who are these people we share the world with? were do they come from? is violent behavior learned? or is it uncontrolled? never the less we will meet millions of people in are lives. we will learn who they are by the shells that they show us. and we will know the person that they appear to be. evil hides in all places. and those who truly find, it are hosts to its behaver.

rrieGood God Dave. Right in our own backyards...wowie...It's truly amazing that she got away to the plaid pantry..evil is unhuman..it truly invades ones soul..
It's important to have God in your heart..
These are the only questions that I would die to know the answer for.
The typical offenders' behaviors can be blamed (kind of) on their childhood - they were abused in some way. Gary Ridgway (Green River Killer) is one of these.
But then you have the other ones who just seem to act out violently without any sign or hint of provocation. These are the scariest ones. They're sociopaths, and they have this "Me-First" ideology that's just terrifying. Joseph Duncan wrote of his crimes: "I can't say I did not know it was wrong, but I can honestly say that I had no clue of the impact my actions would have on my victim, or society, or myself."
And then, once you realize this, the next step is to figure out why people feel this way - are they born like this, or is it society/family/culture? Most hard criminals plead insanity and blame society for causing their insanity - but then again, they're sociopaths, and they view themselves as the victims. As to the genetic argument - testosterone helps explain the difference between male and female rates of crime, but not the difference between males.
The Green River Killer killed prostitutes because he thought he was doing society a favor. I've spoken with people who would kill someone like the Green River Killer if he were released because they think they'd be doing society a favor. Are we all borderline sociopaths?
(Sorry for the longass comment.)
